The Client
Suunto has been pioneering exploration since 1936, when Suunto founder Tuomas Vohlonen invented a way to produce more accurate compasses for his orienteering adventures.
Over the years they have stood on the highest mountains and explored the deepest oceans. They have pushed limits. They have enabled people to turn their adventure dreams into reality.
The Task
We were tasked to create an online presence and eCommerce solution that matches the brand identity and international guidelines. Their website was outdated and built on a drop build service with no functionality to showcase their products in the way a well established international brand should be.
There were several things we needed to get done starting with a consistent way to showcase their + – 200 individual products ranging from sports watches to navigation accessories. Next, we had to integrate coupons from partner promotions, online product registrations for warranties and a service centre solution to deal with repairs efficiently.
We are extremely impressed by how closely Digital-ID managed to recreate Suunto South Africa to our international website’s look and feel.
The Result
The journey began with extensive research on Suunto international’s look and feel, followed by hours of strategy meetings to make sure we meet Suunto’s corporate identity. The build then began with their + – 200 product to be individually represented, each with their own specs and visuals. Coupon functionality and a Service Centre solution then followed to complete the project.
